Weekend Trips

Timings

Trips leave at around around 7pm unless otherwise stated from the sports centre on Friday evenings and returning late (around 9-11pm) on Sunday evening. If you have lectures on Monday that you need to get back for early make sure you tell us so we can plan for this. It may not be possible to get back from some trips early (lake district) because of the distance but we will let you know this beforehand)

Accommodation

We will either be staying in camping barns during the colder months and Tents during the warmer months of our trips. The barns cost a little more so the more people we can get on the trips the better as this will keep the cost down.

Costs

Costs for trips are around £35 which is based on 8 people attending per trip. Trips will still be run if there are less than 8 but more than 6 people. This cost includes your transport, accommodation and food. We would advise people to bring a bit of spare cash for chocolate or maybe a some food in the service station on the way up.

Insurance

You are required to take out accident insurance for our trips. This protects you while you undertake all activities under the clubs supervision (social events to mountaineering). This is £25 per academic year. If you have paid this for the climbing club then you do not have to pay for this again. If you are unsure, just check with us.

Membership

The club charges a membership fee of £3 for the whole year, this is then matched by the Students Union and is used for social events, equipment and other overheads.
